On Monday morning I got up at 6 o'clock to be on the bus for 7 o'clock sharp. Everyone was tired, but excited all the same for what was to come when we walked through an old stone arch into the small but uber cute town of Carlingford.
There we were greeted by the ever so lovely staff in the volleyball court and were divided up into groups of A and B. I was in group B along with all of my friends. Our first activity was kayaking, this was completely new to me as I have never gotten the opportunity to kayak before. I was a bit nervous and experienced some difficulty at the start, but I quickly got the hang of it and it was great fun.
I had nearly reached my limit before we even got to begin our second activity, as we had to walk up this really steep road up a hill to get to the forest while wearing a 'cam- onesie' (camouflage onesie) and carrying a quite heavy gun (the tourists were quite nervous when they saw a big group of girls all dressed in camouflage carrying a weapon). When we finally arrived at the forest we were split into tams of blue and red. I was on the winning team, the blue team. I have played laser tag countless times before but never in a forest, it was so much more fun.
After our dinner we had to make our way back to the forest where we were blindfolded and only had a rope to guide us, this was a lot of fun and involved a lot of screaming.
Then when we got back we got into our cozy pajamas and started our own pajama disco! This was lots of fun, us wolstan's girls really know how to party!
The following morning we went canoeing and had a blast on the water trampoline we then jumped into the freezing cold Irish sea to swim back to our boats.
In our last activity in Carlingford we had to do different types of challenges where we all had to work together, I found the team I was in worked really well together which made this activity enjoyable.
Then on Wednesday we had a day full of workshops to recover from our exhausting but amazing experience in Carlingford, Our first workshop was on stress. I learned in this workshop I learned a lot about myself and that I'm an observer. Our second workshop was on etiquette, this time we learned whether we were warm or cool. I found out that I'm neutral, which means I can wear a range of many different colours. We also learned what type of shaped face we had and then how to apply makeup to work well with our shaped face. Our final workshop was on work experience, we learned how to prepare for it and all the many benefits of work experience. I'm looking forward to experiencing the world of work.
On Thursday we went to Maynooth University to attend a talk on Mini Company. Here we learned about the previous winners of Mini Company and how to come up with an idea of a good product. I have a couple of ideas now that I'm really excited about.
